Hello. Welcome to my Substack. This is the crossposting home of CrazyStupidTech, an innovation newsletter I started with my friend Om Malik a few months back. We called it CrazyStupidTech because anyone starting something new has to endure years of their friends, colleagues and mentors calling their venture crazy and stupid.

We started it because there have rarely been more interesting, crazy, stupid new and interesting technology ideas out there to write about. We’re at the dawn of an entirely new era of innovation. Silicon Valley and its ideas increasingly touch every corner of society - from AI revolutionizing biotech, media, research, and manufacturing, to new battery technologies replacing the need for fossil fuels, to self driving cars and planes changing where we work and live.

Most publications are justifiably focused on what Big Tech is up to. Our goal is to tell you about the innovators that aren’t getting as much attention. Each of us has been writing about Silicon Valley for a generation. Here’s more on me.

I set up this crossposting site because Substack’s recommendation engine is so good that I’ve been picking up subscribers and followers over the past few months without posting a thing. In a perfect world you’d click this link after your done reading this and subscribe on our main site. But we also don’t want you to walk away empty handed.

So after we post on our site, I’ll also post links to what we’re doing here, including updates on some of our stories as well as posts about other things I’m reading and thinking about. You can browse our CrazyStupidTech archives here, including why we decided to start this in the first place here, and the kinds of stories you can expect from us in 2025 here. If you want to subscribe, it’s free.

The best place to find me right now is https://crazystupidtech.com/. It's my innovation newsletter with Om Malik. It's free to subscribe. But I'll also crosspost here.
